Torn AwayBy Pramoth Adhivarahan Under the clear blue sky At the time of sundown I was reminded of her face so pretty That once brought me down To my knees. As I watched the waves kiss the rocks I was reminded of her pretty locks Which made her look As a lily in a cool summer breeze. The sound the water made Made me think about her smile That always lit her freckled face Making my worries Vanish without a trace. She was always there for me Rain or shine She would never leave me Her and me had weathered so many storms Ah! Peace would come so easily in her arms. The ripples in the sand Echoed her never ending giggles I wished the place where I stood Would open up and swallow me whole. Cause I can’t spend my life Without her for a while As I closed my eyes I recalled the dreaded day. All it required Was a fall down the stairs To separate me from her As I held her for the last time And lightly pushing her locks away I saw her smile and close her eyes Without a goodbye. |
