Tips for writing your own poem!!!
According to me poems can be written by each and every person, all you need is little bit of imagination and inspiration. Yes inspiration is one big factor and that can come from anything. Listening to songs, reading other poems etc, etc. Many emotions like love, happiness, frustration, can be easily put forth in words. Here many people make a very basic mistake of thinking that in a poem words ending the line should be rhyming. Yes it is one of the things in a poem but remember it is not everything. If you are going to write the first poem of your life here are a few hints that can help you to bring the Wordsworth in you:
First it may look a little bit funny or childish, but soon you will find that the job becomes easier and easier. A point that should be remembered here that though a poem reflects your thoughts it is not necessary that you as a person has something to do with it. For example if you are writing about war it is just your imagination that helps you write it and here you are not involved in the war at all. Similarly to write about love and romance you need not be in love!!! This is the most common misunderstanding others make. when you write a love song they immediately ask you" Hey who is the person with whom you are in love"!!! On the contrary it is easier to write such poems when you are not in love as you have your own fantasy and you can let it run wild. Another important thing to be said here is there are different ways in writing a poem that is your alternating lines can have the last words rhyming or the first and the last lines in a paragraph rhyming. It is not at all necessary that the rhyming words should end in the same letter. For example you and true, no and snow. So it all depends on the person writing the poem and the pattern which he follows!!!! I sincerely hope that by reading this I would have given you enough confidence to write your own poems. So what are you waiting for, go ahead and give today's Wordsworths a run for their money!!! Go ahead and take a look at the poems I wrote when I was in tenth or in my eleventh standard.
