Searchfor a Poem

Get Back

By Pramoth Adhivarahan

Where are the inspirers???

For whose words many laid their lives

It was just a few decades ago

But now I really don’t know

Will someone rise from the ashes?

Will he show us the way?

To guide us, to make us humans as before

To make us think and show us the right door.

Making the next day worth waiting for

It is time to trace back the footsteps

And search where we went wrong

Our future seems not so bright

But it sure is a ticking time bomb.

Blinded by selfishness and greed

We are craving for more than we need

We have to break the chains of religious difference

Come back to our senses to live as one

You think it is easier said than done

But does it hurt to give it a try?

Does a religion say?

“Hate a person who follows another way”

All have an equal right to live

A life everyone dreams of

A small place and enough to eat

A place to rest

Someone to be there beside, who

Becomes the light on the dark side of the road

Violence has so many faces

Peace has only one

That is why it is hard to find

It is ruby among the stones

Clear the mist in your mind

You realize you have been so blind

To what that has always been there in your hand.
